Year 4 spent a lovely afternoon celebrating the Pride of the Tyne, our local ferry’s, 30th birthday last week! We learned about the history of the ferry, had a trip to North Shields and visited the Captain’s control room. The children also received a goody bag of treats from Nexus!
Reception Visit Marine Park
Reception had a fantastic time at Marine Park this morning! They had great fun playing on the park, playing with skips and balls on the field and building fairy gardens in the woodland area. The children then enjoyed a delicious ice cream to cool down and got to ride on the park train. What a busy morning! Next, it was the highlight of the day – lunch! Reception enjoyed a lovely lunch in the park with their friends before heading back to school. The children were beautifully behaved and made all of the staff incredibly proud.
I would like to say a big thank you to our wonderful parent helpers and a HUGE thank you to Smith’s Seaview Cafe for very kindly supplying the children’s ice creams free of charge.
Year 2 Infant Trip
Year 2 spent the morning at Marine Park as part of their end of year trip. They began with some den building in the forest area. They used sticks, leaves, stones and much more to create dens for their little gnomes and fairies. I was astounded by their creativity.
Then, they spent some time in the play park on the climbing frames and swings. Of course Miss Langley had to join in! To cool off, the children had ice creams and lollies. I think more ended up on their faces than in their tummies!
To end the afternoon, the children had a ride of the park train where they had not one but two rides. What a fantastic day they have had!
Y1 Infant Trip
Year 1 had a fantastic time at the Marine Park this morning! They started with some den building in the forest area. The children’s creativity knew no bounds as they used sticks and leaves to construct cosy dens for their little characters.
Afterwards, they ventured into the play park and had a fun playing with the equipment on the big field. Their laughter and joy filled the air! And what better way to cool off than with a delicious ice cream? They devoured their treats with delight before hopping on the park train for not one, but two thrilling rides!
Year 1 then enjoyed a lovely lunch in the park with their friends. The children’s impeccable behavior throughout the day made us incredibly proud! Well done Year 1!
Y3 Outdoor Adventurers!
Y3 enjoyed orienteering using their mapwork skills around South Marine Park today. They navigated around the park in teams to find letters and numbers which helped them to solve a variety of puzzles. During the course, they also embarked on six problem solving activities, where they had to use communication and teamwork skills. The children were fantastic and really embraced the challenges in a wonderful festival!
Big Sing 2023
The school choir took part in The Big Sing 2023 at The Sage Gateshead. They enjoyed singing a selection of songs alongside many other schools.
Dance Festival 2023
Our Monday night dance club recently performed a medley of songs from Matilda to a packed out audience at the Customs House in the South Tyneside Dance Festival 2023. The children have been very enthusiastic in dance club and worked extremely hard to remember all of the routine. For some of our children this was their first time on stage.
Double Tennis Success!
Our Y3 tennis players enjoyed double success at Boldon Tennis Club; where our A Team won the competition and our B team came a brilliant second! Both of our teams really shone under the bright sunshine today, with outstanding performances in both the singles matches and tennis skills challenges!
It was great to watch our children enjoying the event with their friends, while still playing skilful, determined tennis. I know how much the children have enjoyed playing tennis together this summer, so it was extra special to see both teams achieve great success at the competition.
Thank you to our brilliant parent supporters at Boldon who gave the children wonderful support, which meant they never wilted in the beautiful sunshine.
Y5/6 Quadkids Athletics Competition
Three teams of pupils from Year 5 and Year 6 enjoyed competing at Monkton Stadium in the Quadkids Athletics event last week. There were some brilliant results in the 75m sprint, 600m, howler throw and standing long jump. Everyone tried so hard and should be extremely pleased with their performances. Team A placed 5th out of a staggering 48 teams!
Most importantly, I was very proud to see everyone supporting each other with lots of enthusiasm and kind words. The children had buckets of positive energy and it was a delight to hear them cheering each other on.
A huge ‘well done’ from Mrs Usher 🙂
First Holy Communion
Some of the children in Year 4 celebrated their First Holy Communion on Saturday 10th June. It was a wonderful service: the children looked amazing, read well, and were supported by a packed church of family and friends.
The children enjoyed a lovely breakfast in the church hall and then carried on their celebrations elsewhere.
Please keep all of the children in your prayers as they continue their journey of faith!
