Year 1’s Autumn Walk
Year 1 went on a walk to the Marine Park this afternoon, as part of their Science seasonal change topic. As the children walked to and around the park, they notices some of the berries and seeds that were on the trees and bushes. They also commented upon the different autumnal colours on the leaves.
The children then collected leaves and other natural items to make leaf people and animals, similar to the ones we had read about in the story ‘Leaf Man’ at school.
As a treat, we finished the walk with a little play in the play park, for all of their hard work this half term.
Queen Elizabeth II
It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we join the nation in mourning the loss of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
Dear God
We take time to remember Her Majesty the Queen.
We give thanks for her long life, and for all the ways she loved and served those in her care.
We bring you our sadness for what we have lost;
Our gratitude for what we remember and cherish;
And our wondering about what is to yet to come.
Thank you for the comfort, peace and hope you bring us.
Amen
Happy Retirement Mrs Miller!
After being part of our school for more than forty years, today we wished Mrs Miller a very happy retirement. We held a special assembly for her this morning where each class showed off a range of talents.
We have been so lucky to have Mrs Miller as part of our school community for so long and we know that she has touched so many lives with her kindness and dedication. She has always ensured that our children have received the best possible start to their schooling experiences.
We wish Mrs Miller a very long, happy and healthy retirement!

We also enjoyed a very bump tractor ride and handled some of the smaller animals such a chicks, guinea pigs and rabbits.
Y1 Orienteering
Y1 used their map reading skills to solve some orienteering challenges at South Marine Park. The children worked as teams to find clues and materials. Once they had completed the course they then used the materials collected to build a home for their team’s bear.
