Today the children wore a pair of odd socks to kick start Anti-Bullying Week. The aim of wearing odd socks is to show how we are all unique. The children had great fun!
Year 2 Odd Sock Day
Today Year 2 celebrated Odd Sock Day to raise awareness of Anti-Bullying Week. We wore odd socks to demonstrate that we are all different and unique, which is great! This year’s theme was ‘Reach Out’ and we discussed who the children could talk to if something was making them upset. The children ended the day by designing their own odd socks whilst reading the book ‘Odd Socks’. Take a look at some of the jazzy socks the children wore!
Junior Monster Ball
The junior children had a frightfully exciting night at the Monster Ball on Tuesday!
Robinwood 2022
Our children enjoyed a two-night residential at Robinwood. They were very well-behaved and showed great determination and resilience throughout the activities. We hope they had as much fun as the staff did!
Infant Monster Ball
The infant children had a very spooktacular night at the Monster Ball on Tuesday! Don’t they look scary?!
SEND/Family Support Coffee Afternoon
We would love you to join us for our first SEND/Family Support Coffee afternoon on Monday 28th November 2.15-3.15pm. Mrs Mackley and Mrs Welsh will be available to speak to and there will be a small presentation from Marie Holmes (Educational Mental Health Practitioner) on the Healthy Minds Service.
The PTA will be serving refreshments and selling pre-loved uniform.
Y4 Class Liturgy
In RE, Year 4 have been learning about Reconciliation. Some of the children have been preparing for their First Reconciliation. The Sacrament of Reconciliation celebrates the fact that we are loved and forgiven by God and that when we say sorry to one another and experience forgiveness we are experiencing God’s forgiveness.
We all know that God loves us and is always ready to forgive us, no matter what. His love for us is unconditional. The children wanted to share this unconditional love and friendship with their families and friends in our ‘Lost Sheep’ Reconciliation Liturgy.
Hoops 4 Health
The children in Year 5 and 6 enjoyed an afternoon with some Newcastle Eagles players this week.
The roadshow concentrated on health messages such as mental and social well-being, how to stay fit and look after the heart and lungs, stay hydrated with tap water and eating a balanced diet. The children also had the opportunity to play some basketball with the Eagles players!
The children were fantastic at answering the players’ questions and taking part in the activities.
Well done everyone!
Year 1’s Autumn Walk
Year 1 went on a walk to the Marine Park this afternoon, as part of their Science seasonal change topic. As the children walked to and around the park, they notices some of the berries and seeds that were on the trees and bushes. They also commented upon the different autumnal colours on the leaves.
The children then collected leaves and other natural items to make leaf people and animals, similar to the ones we had read about in the story ‘Leaf Man’ at school.
As a treat, we finished the walk with a little play in the play park, for all of their hard work this half term.
Year 6 Class Liturgy
Year 6 had the pleasure of inviting their parents into school to watch their class liturgy.
It was great to have everyone back into the school to enjoy a time of worship, reflection and prayer.
The children did a great job and particularly enjoyed the juice and biscuits afterwards!
