Our new Y1 class have settled in brilliantly, quickly adjusting to their new routines and enjoying time with their friends. It has been a joy to see their enthusiasm and excitement as they explore their learning environment.

Our Y1 & Y2 children were all amazing in our Summer Sport & Well Being Club this week! We took full advantage of the dry, sunny weather to enjoy a wide variety of activities around our school grounds.
The children embraced all of the activities with a great attitude and really enjoyed themselves with their friends, while learning new skills. If there are any spaces left in the Team GB team for the Paris Olympics, I’m certain our children would now be ready!
I’m sure the club will also help many of our children in their transition to the juniors in September; while it was a joy teaching our talented children. I hope you all have a great summer with your families, continue to enjoy keeping get active and of course enjoy watching the Olympics!

The St. Bede’s Sports Leaders Team have been amazing this year supporting our younger children to get involved in healthy exercise with their friends. They organise a rich, variety of activities for our children to enjoy during lunchtimes. Thank you to all of our Sports Leaders for doing such a selfless role to inspire others to keep active!

I am delighted to share that one of our Y5 pupil’s has been selected to represent South Tyneside District Football team next season. He was initially nominated as an excellent footballer for the trials, with over 60 other elite boys from the borough. He went on to show a lot of skill, determination and maturity to negotiate multiple trials to make the final squad for the 2024-25 season. We look forward to following his progress next season, when he will play against the best footballers from the north east region – enjoy every moment knowing we are really proud of you!

The South Tyneside School Sport Network kindly delivered Team winners medals for our young Athletics Champions for their presentation today!
Our young stars also picked up some individual accolades as Josen & Hugo were joint first boys out of 240 boys; while Fearne was individual third for the girls from a massive 238. In a highly talented squad, Ralph and Ellen were both fourth overall, narrowly missing out on a podium finish. Meanwhile, four of our team will still be elgible to compete in the same event next year. Congratulations to the whole squad!
