Santa arrived in our nursery! We enjoyed telling him what we would like for Christmas. It was a wonderful surprise!

We visited St Bede’s church. We learnt a lot about the building and its features. Look at our visit…

Year 1 have been learning about Christingles, a symbolic representation of Christ’s light. The children carefully followed the instructions on how to make them and worked in teams to create them.
With oranges representing the world, red ribbons symbolising the blood of Christ, sweets and dried fruits signifying God’s creations, and a candle as the light of Christ, the children gained a deeper understanding of the religious meaning behind the Christingle tradition.
We then went into the hall and had a small liturgy where we lit the candles on the Christingles and said some special prayers.

Year 1 took part in a wide range of activities at the Key Stage 1 Christmas Multi-skills festival, held at Temple Park. The children looked fantastic dressed in their christmas attier and demonstrated some brilliant balancing, impressive throwing and aiming skills, as well as some speedy sprints all with a festive twist.
Well done Year 1!

The Sportshall Athletics squad achieved a brilliant third place in the District Finals today. Our athletes have shown great dedication to train for the competition and then performed superbly in a range of track and field events. Amazingly, 13 of our children will still be able to attend next year’s event.
I was so proud of how everyone supported each other; congratulations to the whole squad! Thank you also to our fantastic parent helpers who gave up their time to support our children.
