Here are the links to the children’s Carol Concert recordings, it is a shame parents could not be with us again this year, but we hope you enjoy our songs and poem and they bring a little festive cheer into your homes. T’was the night before Christmas – Narrators from all year groups.
In Science this half term, the children in Year 4 have been learning about Electricity. We decided to get creative and link this to our DT topic.
The children were asked to design Santa’s sleigh that they could make and light up by building a complete circuit which they could control with a switch that they had to make to turn the light on and off.
The children first designed their sleighs and listed all the equipment they would need.
The children brought in their boxes and they began to assemble and decorate their sleighs.
They finally had to add their circuits and light up Santa’s sleigh.
They then evaluated their sleighs and discussed what they would do differently next time to improve their sleighs. 
The children thoroughly enjoyed making these and as you can see, they did an amazing job.
Year 4 had a great time at their Christmas party. They enjoyed getting into teams and taking part in a Christmas quiz followed by some party food then it was time to play games and show off their dance moves! A great afternoon had by all!
In aid of Anti-Bullying Week the children came into school today wearing a pair of odd socks. It’s been a great opportunity to celebrate what makes us unique and individual.
The children have had a fabulous day raising money for Children in Need. We wore Pudsey ears to school and took part in the Annual Duck Race. I’m thrilled to say that we have raised a whopping £205.00 so far! Well done to all of the children – your kind donations will make a huge difference to children’s lives around the UK.
The children in Year 4 have enjoyed a great day out to Arbeia Roman Fort in South Shields.
We enjoyed a tour of the fort learning about the history of the fort and what it was used for centuries ago. We also enjoyed taking part in an artefact handling session. The children also visited the Museum where they did a bit art work and after lunch went to the top of the West Gate to take in the beautiful views before taking a visit to the ‘gift shop’.
It was a pleasure to take out the children for their first school trip in a long time and their behaviour was impeccable. A great day out by all and after all that walking, they will definitely sleep tonight!

The children have been learning about sound in Science and have been investigating the volume and pitch of a sound. They had to make an ‘instrument’ which could create different pitches.
The children thoroughly enjoyed being creative and making their straw pan-pipes!
It was wonderful to see children in Years 1-6 enjoying playing cricket together today. Coaches from Durham CCC and South Shields CC led the event, in which it was great to see plenty of smiles as children batted, bowled and practised their catching.
