Our new football team have already played six games into their new season, and have made a fine start with four victories. The Y6 boys have shown some great leadership, to support several players from Y5 and Y4 in a youthful squad. The team should look forward with confidence to the fixtures resuming in 2020!
Hoops4Health Roadshow!
Y5 enjoyed an inspiring Roadshow delivered by the Newcastle Eagles basketball players. Children learned about how they can live healthy lives, and enjoyed trying their hand at basketball under the watchful eye of the Eagles stars!
District Cross Country Champions 2019
Congratulations to our talented and determined Cross Country runners who became District Team Champions today. There was lots of individual success; but the real highlight was how courageously all eight of our teams approached the challenging course in difficult weather conditions.
It was an absolutely amazing collective effort in a highly competitive event involving over 600 children. Everyone encouraged their friends throughout in wonderful displays of teamship, as we deservedly won the District Shield. Miss Moffett and I were incredibly proud of your attitude and all of your personal best performances on the day.
Thank you to our amazing runners and brilliant parents who cheered them on every step of the route!
Top Tag Rugby Teams!
Our two Tag Rugby teams were in top form at the local tournament today; where both sides reached the Play-Off finals. One of our sides fantastically progressed to the District Finals Day (February 2020), while the other bowed out after a pulsating game.
Well done and thank you to both teams for training hard and playing so determinedly today; you were all wonderful to watch!
Courageous Cross Country Runners!
A huge well done and thank you to the 29 children who braved the driving rain and put in such whole hearted and determined performances in the Cross Country today! Miss Moffett and I were extremely proud of you all!
There will be a special school assembly connected to the event after half term; but for the time being can I once again say thank you for attending today and for your outstanding performances!
Y3/4 Quicksticks Success!
Congratulations to our five Y3/4 Quicksticks teams who all played fantastically in the District tournament. Superbly, 3 of our sides qualified for the South Tyneside Finals Day (12th November). Everyone played with a lot of skill and determination and we were all very proud of your efforts.
Active Lunchtime!
The Activity Leaders from Y3 have been doing a wonderful job alongside the Lunchtime Supervisors to get the Infants active during the lunch break. It has been wonderful to see so many children smiling and having fun with their friends, as they use the new play equipment.
Summer Sports Club 2019!
The children who attended our summer sport club enjoyed a wide variety of activities and had a lot of fun with their friends. Despite the hot weather, everyone was full of energy and showed brilliant enthusiasm throughout.
Thank you for attending so keenly and happy holidays everyone!
Sports Day 2019!
It was wonderful to see our school community come together to support the children in a variety of races on sports day. Thank you to everyone who was there, as you made it a wonderful event on a fine summer’s day.
Dance Festival 2019
Last week Miss Moffett and Mrs Hill took two Dance teams to the South Tyneside Dance Festival held at the Customs House. Both teams were absolutely amazing and made both us, and St Bede’s very proud.
Well done Girls and Boys!
