Family Swim Sessions for children with SEND
South Tyneside Local Authority have recently piloted exclusive family swimming sessions for children / young people with SEND and their family. Families that took really enjoyed the sessions as it offered their child with SEND a relaxed environment and it meant they got to spend time as a family as well.
These sessions are now available until March 2025, spaces must be booked and can be done so using the link below.
Y3 Fruit Crumble
This term Year 3 have been learning how to make a fruit crumble! They have investigated seasonal fruits, carbon footprints and food packaging, then learned how to design and make a crumble; including cooking techniques and food hygiene. They have worked really hard in DT and our final products were excellent, we hope you all enjoyed tasting them at home!
Year 6 RAP Event at South Shields Fire Station
Today, the children attended the RAP (Reducing Risks At Play) Event at South Shields Fire Station.
They took part in a series of workshops looking at the different risks when they are out and about.
The children learned about how to stay safe in and around water, using the local metro, the dangers of electricity and how to stay safe on their bikes in our area and on the roads.
The children particularly enjoyed the fire demonstration at the end…and their free goodies!
Year 6 Leavers’ Disco
The children in Year 6 enjoyed their final disco at St Bede’s on Tuesday night.
Fun and games, dancing and a treat of a McDonalds. The children (and staff) had a fantastic night!
Year 6 Play: Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies
I think you will all agree that the children did an absolutely fantastic end of year production; ‘Robin and the Sherwood Hoodies’.
The children worked so hard to memorise their lines, learn the dances and show off their acting talents.
Well done Year 6!
Year 4 Ferry Trip
Year 4 spent a lovely afternoon celebrating the Pride of the Tyne, our local ferry’s, 30th birthday last week! We learned about the history of the ferry, had a trip to North Shields and visited the Captain’s control room. The children also received a goody bag of treats from Nexus!
