We arrived at the Youth Village and were greeted by beautiful sunshine! The children have settled in really well and have been well fed. They have completed a couple of activities so far and have had fun playing out.
Here they are having fun:
With Christ at our side to guide us,
we shine in all that we do.

We had an action packed few days on this year’s residential. The children took part in every activity with a smile on their face (even the Piranha Pool!) and great determination. They were well-mannered and a pleasure to spend time with. We hope they enjoyed the trip as much as we did!

We’ve had a fantastic first day at the centre. The children have had their tea and are now taking part in “team challenge” which is the last activity before hot chocolate and bed.

This week in PSHE, Marie from the Healthy Minds Team, taught us about our worries. She reassured us that everyone worries and taught us how to control how we deal with strong feelings.

Last Friday, we had a special visitor to school. Our Local MP, Emma Lewell-Buck, spoke to our junior classes. They discussed what her role was in Parliament and the changes they would like to see in the local area. It was lovely to meet you Emma!

On Friday, Marie delivered a workshop for our Year 6 children and their parents. They discussed the upcoming transitions and how we deal with worry. Marie gave us all some helpful strategies that we can adopt in and outside of school. Thank you Marie and thank you to all the parents that attended – we appreciate your continued support.

This week, we’ve been celebrating Children’s Mental Health Week. Our infant classes had an assembly from Miss Dixon and our junior classes had an extra special visitor. Lisa, from BlueJay Wellness, spoke to the junior classes about how to connect with others and why our connections help our own and other people’s mental health and well-being.
In our house meetings, we created jigsaw pieces that celebrate how we all connect as a school community. These will soon be on display for all our children to see.
