Yesterday Reception celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as their favourite book characters. We had characters from Winnie the Witch, The Little Mermaid, The Highway Rat and Matilda to name but a few! It was lovely to see the children sharing their favourite books with each other.
Junior Carol Concert
The junior children peformed wonderfully in their Christmas Carol Concert at St. Bede’s Church. They sang a selection of Christmas carols and told of the Nativity.
Civic Carol Concert
The Junior Choir took part in South Tyneside’s Civic Carol Concert at Temple Park Leisure Centre. They sang beautifully with 8 other schools and a live orchestra.
St. Bede’s Christmas Fair Extravaganza
Yesterday saw the return of our Christmas Fair and what a fair it was! The children enjoyed donkey rides, a visit to see Santa and his reindeer and browsing the many wonderful stalls that were ran by our fantastic School Council, PTA and parent helpers.
Without the amazing support and dedication of Mrs Foord and the incredible PTA none of this would have been possible. The children and staff are so grateful for the hard work you put into raising money for our school. Thank you so much.
Reception visit the Post Office
This morning the children walked to the Post Office to post their letters to Santa.
Reception trip to the Urban Factory
Reception had a fantastic day yesterday at the Urban Factory! They competed in a coordination challenge and had so much fun!
Children in Need
Thank you to everyone who made a donation to Children in Need on Friday. We raised a fantastic £232! A special thank you and well done to the School Council and Year 6 children who hosted a cake sale on Friday lunchtime.
Children in Need – Reception
Reception have had a great day for Children in Need. They wore spots, Pudsey ears and went to their very first cake sale hosted by the Year 6 children. We talked about how their donations will help children in need all around the UK.
Odd Socks Day in Reception
Today the children wore a pair of odd socks to kick start Anti-Bullying Week. The aim of wearing odd socks is to show how we are all unique. The children had great fun!
Junior Monster Ball
The junior children had a frightfully exciting night at the Monster Ball on Tuesday!
