Year 6 had a great afternoon on Friday, completing fun activities, watching a movie and enjoying the Autumn disco. They all looked fantastic too!
Y6 Crime and Punishment Workshop
In History, the children in Year 6 are learning about Crime and Punishment. They welcomed a visitor into school on Friday and enjoyed a fantastic workshop, packed full with activities, learning about crime and punishment throughout the ages:
- Anglo Saxons – the different laws in existence at that time; fines and punishments for different crimes; oath helpers; and ordeals.
- Tudors – working in small groups, the children created scripts of crimes they’d committed using Tudor criminal slang.
- Re-enactment of the trial of Captain William Kidd, a man who was trialled and executed for murder and piracy.
- Crime and Punishment in Victorian times – the children learnt about crime and punishment in the Victorian era; learning that children as young as 12 could be sent to prison. They dressed up a Victorian children and created mugshots of themselves. What a motley crew they are!
Go Green for CAFOD
The Year 6 Mini Vinnies excelled themselves with their first fundraiser of the school year – the Go Green for CAFOD Bake Sale. The Year 6 children produced some delicious cakes, cup cakes, tray bakes and chocolate dipped apples for everyone to enjoy. Supporting them with hungry enthusiasm and generous donations, the rest of the school tucked into the tasty treats.
A huge thank you to everyone for making the Bake Sale such a huge success – we had fun and raised £151.36 for CAFOD! Amazing!!
Y2 Sports Day & Picnic

All of the children tried their hardest in each of their races and performed well, enjoying a well deserved treat this afternoon. They should all sleep well tonight!
