Y1 Road Safety

Today Year 1 have had a visit from Lori, who is part of South Tyneside’s Road Safety team. She spoke to the children about how to stay safe when walking on the pavement, and how to cross a road safely. Lori explained that there are four important things to do before crossing a road.

The children were also told about other ways of crossing the road including using a pedestrian crossing, lolly pop person and a zebra crossing.

Young Archaeologists in Y3!

Y3 enjoyed a wonderful Prehistory day at Durham University. The children analysed primary sources from the Stone Age, completed an exciting gallery trail and produced Iron Age emblems by metal embossing.

Everyone had a great day, while it was also lovely to take in a few of the sites like Durham Cathedral!

Y3 Skip into 2020!

Y3 enjoyed an exciting Skipping Workshop where they enjoyed learning a variety of individual, pairs and team skipping skills. Everyone had a great time and I hope everyone continues to enjoy skipping in future PE sessions.

Sportshall Athletics – Team Silver!

Our Sportshall Athletics team were in good form at the District event, where the children claimed Team silver medals. Everyone contributed to the team effort and had a great time at the competition. Amazingly, over half of the team were from Y4 and Y5, which made us even prouder of their performances!

Football 2019-20!

Our new football team have already played six games into their new season, and have made a fine start with four victories. The Y6 boys have shown some great leadership, to support several players from Y5 and Y4 in a youthful squad. The team should look forward with confidence to the fixtures resuming in 2020!

Children in Need 2019

Reception have had a very exciting day raising money for Children in Need. They took part in Joe Wicks ‘Big Morning Move’, the annual ‘Duck Race’, wore Pudsey ears and bought cakes and raffle tickets!

Stranger Danger talk from the Police
