Year 1 had a fantastic and exciting morning bringing their Science learning to life. This half term, the children have been learning about different types of animals and how they can be grouped. They were delighted to meet a range of animals in person and enjoyed observing their features closely, comparing body structures and noticing the differences between warm-blooded and cold-blooded animals. The children loved feeding, stroking and cuddling the animals, and it was wonderful to see their confidence grow throughout the session. I was incredibly proud of how brave, respectful and curious they were. This experience supported the Year 1 Science National Curriculum by helping the children identify and classify a variety of animals and deepen their understanding of the characteristics of different animal groups through first-hand exploration and observation.
