Our Nursery

Nursery at St. Bede's Catholic Primary School

Our wonderful nursery offers 15 and 30 hour places for children aged 3 years and over.

We welcome children of all faiths and beliefs into our caring school community.

15 Hour Places Flexible nursery provision for eligible children.
30 Hour Places Extended funded provision available.
Inclusive Environment A nurturing and welcoming setting for all children.

School Day

It is crucial that all pupils are punctual and attend school every day.

School Start 8.50am
Doors open from 8.40am
School Finish 3.15pm
Wraparound Care Breakfast Club and After School Club available.

We work closely with families to support excellent attendance and punctuality for all pupils.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Children learn new skills, acquire knowledge and demonstrate understanding through seven key areas of learning and development.

Key Stages 1 & 2

Core Subjects Mathematics, Literacy and Religious Education.
Foundation Subjects History, Geography, Science, Art and Music.
Wider Curriculum PE, Personal & Social Education, Modern Foreign Languages and Information Technology.

Our curriculum supports children academically, socially and spiritually as they grow and flourish.

Our Uniform

Children are expected to wear full school uniform each day.

  • Jumper, tank top or cardigan with school logo
  • Light blue polo shirt with school logo
  • Grey trousers, shorts or skirt
  • Blue summer dress
  • Black shoes (not trainers)

P.E. Kit

  • School PE top
  • Navy shorts
  • Plimsolls or trainers

SEND & Safeguarding

Safeguarding

Safeguarding our pupils is our number one priority. We are a listening school and staff are fully trained in safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Our Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher are Designated Safeguarding Officers and all staff undertake regular safeguarding training.

We work closely with South Tyneside and Clennell Education Solutions safeguarding teams and follow the guidance in Keeping Children Safe in Education.

SEND

We are committed to maintaining and developing the education of all pupils.

Children with special educational needs are identified early and supported through strong partnerships between school, home and external services.

Chadwick’s Kitchen

Our award-winning in-house catering team, Chadwick’s Kitchen, provides catering services across the Trust.

  • Fresh ingredients prepared daily
  • Healthy and nutritionally balanced meals
  • Medical diets accommodated in partnership with parents
  • ParentPay available for payments
  • Packed lunches permitted, but nuts and nut-based products are not allowed
  • Food waste and sustainability regularly reviewed
