We had lots of fun celebrating Christmas to our favourite tunes! Merry Christmas!
Y3 have enjoyed their recent festivities including a Christmas Tree Quiz, designing cards/baubles, parties and many more activities. The children have also continued to work hard this term and achieve many certificates.
We’ve had a very busy first term to Year 6. We hope you enjoy the photos of your children enjoying themselves at their party. We would like to thank you for all the cards, gifts and well wishes. We hope you have a lovely Christmas.
Thank you to everyone that donated money to Children in Need on Friday. We raised a fantastic £231.66 which will make a huge difference to children’s lives across the UK.
The Youth Sport Trust, an outstanding PE organisation have launched a free daily 30-minute online club, which is available for all children and young people to participate in some sport, develop skills and of course have fun .
The club will be held every day from 5pm and it is accessed through a live video on their Youtube channel. The club will be led by Athlete Mentors with different backgrounds, abilities and from different sports. It will run Monday to Friday until the 18th December.
Each session will have a specific theme based on the day which will be…
Adventure Monday – this might involve getting children to do floor, wall climbing and map reading all within their living room.
Tuesday Play – imaginative play utilising resources in the house to create games and activities to get active.
Wild Wednesday – some high tempo competitive activities involving personal challenges.
Thinking Thursday – introducing cognitive challenges for children through movement. Active noughts and crosses and introducing an element of competition – whether that be against themselves, the clock, their siblings or remotely with friends.
Fun Friday – a chance for children to let loose and have some fun. Dancing and doing what makes them feel good.
This is a great opportunity for children who are missing out on their usual clubs to develop skills and learn something new.

Y3 have shown a lot of maturity to quickly settle into the juniors this half term. They have produced lots of outstanding work in all subject areas; Miss Moffett and I are extremely proud of their efforts and consistently good attitude.
We all had a spooktacular Halloween Day in Year 2 today! The children’s costumes were absolutely FANTASTIC, thank you for making such an effort to create a wonderful visual scarefest for all! We’ve had games, music, costume parades, spooky stories and dancing as well as some scary maths and phonics work.
Have a lovely half term break with the children, we are looking forward to having them back in November already 🙂

To launch our new history topic, Year 5 welcomed “That History Bloke” to St. Bede’s. We spent the morning looking at Anglo Saxon artifacts and learning all about the lives of Anglo Saxon monks.
We pledged ourselves to the life of a monk using the Anglo Saxon alphabet, then finished the morning playing morrells (an Anglo Saxon game).
The children had a brilliant morning!
